I am a self trained artist; I remember being driven to create. Raised in NY State I moved to Phoenix, Arizona in the mid 1980’s. Painting the landscapes of the SW and dying vibrant fabrics were my passions in my early years here in Arizona. Maturity and global awareness and personal tragedy has brought me to a place where I need to use my creative gifts for fund raising and social awareness promoting positive change for all living beings. A synopsis of these works is below:
- Installation of 1,000 white origami cranes at Siam Thai Cuisine, Glendale, AZ. The restaurant ran fund raising events for tsunami disaster relief in Thailand in conjunction with Thai New Year.
– Installation of 1,000 multi color origami cranes at Holy Click Gallery, Phoenix, and AZ. Installed for the first anniversary of a lost loved one and to raise awareness of local hospice services.
– Origami Doves of the world Peace mobile completed. This project entailed creating and printing my own origami paper sheets each printed with a different country and territory flag. The paper then cut into squares, folded into doves and strung together in a single mobile.
– Completed folding over 1,000 black origami doves to be used as part of a death penalty abolishment project, project completion is currently on going.
– Began campaign of folding 1,000 origami cranes from paper printed with the Tibetan flag. These cranes are being mailed one at a time daily to Mr Rogg President of the International Olympic Committee as an offering of peace and longevity, something China is insuring is a luxury that will not be afforded to the people of Tibet.
